Here's a quick guide to becoming a succeful wood cutter in Runescape.
1-15 Just regular logs, sell them in the G.E. or burn them. 97 Logs will get you to 15
15-30 Oaks, burn or sell. 293 logs will get you to 30
30-99 Willows, recommend burning but if you are to sell them do it before you go to sleep. 192905 willow logs will give you level 99
Alt. 60-99 Yew (Recommend level 70+ because Yew is hard to chop and has lots of competeion) Great Gp. 72919 Yew will give you level 99
